The Bavarian Natural History
Collections presently award one scientific prize: the R.J.H. Hintelmann Scientific Award.
With this
award the Zoologische Staatssammlung Muenchen and the association "Freunde der Zoologischen
Staatssammlung Muenchen e.V" reward outstanding achievements in zoological
systematics, phylogenetics, faunistics or zoogeography.
The award is
bestowed once a year, preferably on young post-graduate scientists. It is endowed with 5.000 EUR.
