The Mineralogische Staatssammlung Muenchen is a research
institution that forms part of the Bavarian Natural History Collections. Its
scientific tasks include the collection, storage and study of the minerals of
our planet. One focus is, of course, on Bavarian minerals. For the other main
topics of research at the Mineralogische Staatssammlung Muenchen please have a
look at its own homepage.
The Mineralogische Staatssammlung Muenchen
is also engaged in public education. This is done through the Museum "Kingdom of
Crystals", located in Munich.
