Course description

This course is divided into two sections. The first section aims at giving some basic tools of political economics. In doing this, we deal with one-dimensional and multi-dimensional voting and voter turnout. We then discuss agency models and general and special interest politics. The graduate textbook Persson and Tabellini (2000) will be the core reference for the first part.

The second part is designed to provide the students with an insight into different topics on the research frontier.
