Robert Mailhammer is currently
a research fellow at the Australian National University, Canberra.
He received his Ph. D.
in Language Theory and Applied Linguistics within the International
Doctoral Programme in Linguistics LIPP at the University of Munich
in 2005 with a dissertation on the Proto-Germanic strong verbs,
which was funded by doctoral grants from the German Merit Foundation
(Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes) and the University of Munich.
As a Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne in
2007, Robert started research on Amurdak, a language from Northern
Arnhem Land. He has also held posts in German and English Linguistics at the University of Munich and at the Catholic University
of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Germany.
